Solid basic TV stand. Nice appearance.

First, the bad news. The top arrived cracked and had a bow to it. If you have shipping damage, don't take it to Walmart, call the number on the instruction book and tell them what part you need. Ameriwood was very friendly and I got a replacement top in about 7 working days. Meanwhile I used the cracked top. So, hang on to the instruction booklet. It has the codes you need to order replacement parts.

Otherwise, it was fairly easy to assemble. Some of the lock cams are hard to reach. Use a battery powered drill with a #2 Phillips bit and a hand Phillips for fast construction. That is all you need.

For the money, it is about what you would expect. It has a nice appearance and is very solid. The finish is nice but very thin and can chip easily. It is just right for my modest 40" TV. It has just enough shelving for my Blueray player, satellite box, my trusty old VHS player and my computer speakers and subwoofer. What is really lacking though is a back panel. I will probably get a piece of Masonite and cut it to size and paint it black. That will give it a much nicer appearance and hide any wiring behind it. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anybody needing a budget stand. Just inspect it as soon as you get it.

Fits my 51 inch flat screen. I had friends set it up and it took them close to 30-45 mins. I love the tv stand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great piece of furniture but damaged in 2 places

I had this tv stand delivered only a day or two before I was scheduled to have the tv delivered from another store. When I took it out of the box I realized that the top was cracked which caused it to bow, and there was also a gouge in the top front where the box was crushed. The way it was packaged, I could tell that the top had been cracked before it even went into the box. I didn't have time to order another before my tv arrived, so I put it together anyway. The good news is that it was remarkably easy to assemble and took no muscle. The bow is hardly noticeable (I was more concerned about stability than appearance) and I'll use a furniture marker to fill in the gouge so that it's less noticeable. Had it arrived in good condition as expected, I would have given it 5 stars for excellent value and appearance.

Within a DAY of building this stand and putting my TV (46 in Samsung LCD) on it, the stand began to sag under the weight of the TV. I know this was a cheap piece but I was just surprised how fast it happened. For Example, I bought a bookcase from target two years ago for about 50 dollars and it's only just now beginning to sag in some of the shelves.
I would not buy this again or recommend it to someone else.
