Beautiful piece of furniture!
This TV stand is beautiful and is a very good quality. When I first opened it I wasn’t sure if I could get it put together. But the pieces are all labeled and the instructions were very easy to follow. It took me a little over 2 hours to get it put together and I am very pleased with it. It looks very sharp and the color is beautiful. (My pictures and video do not do the color justice.) I am thinking about getting another one and putting the two side by side to make it look like one long stand. The stand is 42 inches wide, 22 inches high and 16-1/2 inches in depth. It has 2 drawers and 2 shelves. The drawers hold quite a bit of stuff, they are both 16-1/2 x 13-1/2 inches and 4-1/2 inches deep. The top shelf gives you 5 inches clearance and the bottom shelf gives you 6 inches clearance. My DVD player and cable box both fit very nicely on the top shelf. The back is closed in but has 4 holes for the cords to go through. We needed something nice for the TV in the basement to sit on and this stand is just perfect.

Not what I had hoped for.
I really needed a new TV stand for the living room. When I saw this Altra Furniture Westbrook one I liked the look of it. The dark, walnut finish goes well with my other furniture. It is 42 inches long, 16 1/2 inches deep, and 22 inches high. My forty-six inch TV fits perfectly. I added a DVD player, PS3, Wii U and satellite receiver with plenty of room left. I have used the lower shelves for games, movies, and music. The two drawers have quite a bit of room in them. All cables and cords went through the holes in the back panels for a neat hook-up. Now for the problems with it. First thing there was no paperwork, not even a manual to assemble it by in the box. There were twenty separate wooden pieces and two hundred and ten small parts. After calling customer service and waiting eleven minutes a very nice person immediately e-mailed a copy of the twenty-three page, seventeen step manual to me. I printed this out and then spent 3 hours putting it together. All the parts were in the box but many fall out of the too-big holes pre-drilled for them. Overall my experience with assembly was bad. I suggest buying something already together unless you have tons of patience and time. The finished product looks good but probably isn’t going to last very long due to poorly pressed together wooden pieces and those holes that were too big.

Beautiful Tv Stand
It is large and sleek and exactly as pictured.
The shipping was amazingly prompt as always. One of the drawers is slightly tilted but doesn't affect function and barely noticeable.
There were a couple tiny scratches but again barely noticeable, easily fixed, and reasonable considering that it has to be shipped in pieces which they did pad like crazy.
Instructions aren't always super clear - it's pictures only - but just take it slowly and think it through and you'll be fine.
It took my partner and I maybe an hour and a half to assemble, and we would've done it faster but we wanted to do it right the first time.
It's a decently hefty piece and I like that it's a rich walnut and not a solid black.
The backing comes in two long pieces, we chose to only attach the bottom one behind the drawers. Like other reviews said, the backing for behind the open shelves has pre-scored marks for cord-holes but there's no way you can pop out the squares by hand, you will need a knife or saw.
We left it off so our electronics could breathe and I like the open look it has better anyway.
I wish walmart would've provided more picture views of the piece from other angles - like from behind, and maybe more dimensions - for the drawers and shelves, so I could've made a more informed choice.
It was worth the small risk as long as you've measure the space it will go into; I have no regrets.
It's beautiful and functional and just right size.

Disappointed
Unfortunately when I began to put this together ,which is a slightly daunting task as it comes in over 20 pieces, I discovered I was missing a couple of pieces. I emailed Ameriwood for replacement parts and was immediately notified I would receive replacement parts in 7-14 business days. Still waiting for parts 13 days later but thought I would write a review so I can show how many pieces to assemble. Directions say best to assemble with 2 people so had I known that I may have decided on something else.The color of the particle board in the picture is accurate and will match my dark brown tobacco color of my other living room furniture.If I ever get it put together I will post finished product.

Gorgeous and Solidly Built!
This Westbrook TV Stand is a gorgeous piece of furniture! Solidly built and beautifully crafted out of dark walnut, the Westbrook is perfect fit for TVs up to 42". It measures in at approximately 42-inches long by 22-inches high and 16-inches deep, so there is plenty of room on top to stand your TV comfortably along with speakers, if you so desire. It has two spacious drawers up top to hold remote controls, manuals, DVDs, games, and whatever else you could think of. Under the these two top drawers there are four shelves to place other electronic devices, such as a cable box, Blu-Ray/DVD player, stereo, or gaming system. The back is enclosed, which personally I've always preferred, but there are four holes to access and hide all of your cords and cables. The stand itself is relatively easy to assemble, although it does take a little bit of time, so I would not recommend trying to put it together when you're in a rush. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my new Westbrook TV stand and would highly recommend this piece to others. It will add a touch of class to almost any living room, family room, or bedroom.
