Love this stand!
The complete assembled stand is about 23-1/2 inches high, 18-1/2 inches deep from back to bottom of front legs and 5 ft long. The shelf color is blackish/smokey grey wood pattern, pressed board or mdf, I really don't know what the boards are. They're not light weight. There are 2 top shelves and 2 bottom shelves that attach in the middle to a metal leg. Assembled top shelf is 58-1/2 inches long and 13-3/4 inches deep. Assembled bottom shelf is same length and 17 inches deep. The bottom shelf sits about 9 inches off the ground. There is about 13-1/2 inches of height in between top and bottom shelves. There is a lot of usable shelf space on the bottom! Some stands have shelves too small or short to fit games and/or hard drives, but this one will fit probably anything you have! The 2 back panels attach by screws so you don't have to worry about the back getting pushed out. I really like the stand open without them. I'm still debating on whether I want to keep them on. The 3 sets of legs are black metal and very strong. The shelves are attached by heavy duty bolts. Tools for those are included. The screws are black, heavy duty and don't stick out. Because they are set in, you don't have to worry about getting scratched or snagging something on them. It also makes the stand look nice without screws sticking out all over. The instructions were good and the pieces were all labeled with easy peel off stickers. I also liked that the parts were labeled in individual bags so you didn't have to sort them out and compare them to pictures like I've done with many. It was very neat, clear and easy just the way I like it! My only concern to note is that I would add to the instructions not to screw or tighten until all the bolts are actually in place. Because they are strong and pulling it all together screwing and tightening too early changes the line up of the holes. I figured this out after fighting it for a little while and asking was I putting it together backwards! But compared to other stuff I've put together, I have no complaints and wish others were as easy. This stand is very sturdy and stable. If I read it correctly, the TV should weigh no more than 135 lbs. My 42 inch TV has been on the wall and I'm tired of neck strain from looking up. Now I can watch it comfortably. The gamers don't care one way or the other. But my family all agree that the stand is great in the room. I love it for its simplicity and the look and style of it. It definitely has a lot of usable space. It's easy to keep clean and it's basically a simple pretty stand that could have many uses. Since it sits so low with so much space I could see it under the windows displaying my flowers and plants. And my cats could see it under the windows displaying them! I would certainly recommend this "ALL PURPOSE" stand!

Easy Assembly - Modern Appearance
The Altra Ladder TV stand for TVs up to 65" arrived in an average size box. Although the box is some what heavy, it can easily be placed in one's vehicle.....back seat or front or trunk. It was delivered to my home in perfect condition. The stand does look black but if you were to look at it closely, you'd see it is a very deep dark brown with a wood grain appearance. The legs are black metal. The legs do come fully assembled, 3 leg attachments at each end and in the middle. You do need to attach the legs. Assembly is simple and doesn't take too long. When assembling, do not tighten any screws. It's easy to line up the screws to the predrilled holes as long as you don't tighten any of them until all is attached. The shelves are made of durable pressed board as is common today (not real wood). I've put a load of furniture together in my years and I can tell you, this is one of the simplest to assemble. No help is needed. I assembled it myself. I placed it in my den and have a 46" tv on it. That does give me room on either end to place some decor items or my phone and wifi router, or something else. The back lower panels have two holes, one on each side to accommodate wires/cables. I placed two of the 'MainStays' Large baskets on the lower shelf and they fit perfectly, both on one side so I am going to purchase a couple more which will result in 4 baskets across the lower shelf. In other words, you can place baskets or whatever you want on the lower shelf, not just electronics. All the items for assembly are completely marked....all pieces and all screws. The only additional item you need that is not included is a 'Phillips Screwdriver'. And for the record, the mark labels such as A, B, C are easily peeled off so no worry about trying to get off labels with residue. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to include an extra screws.....there are no extra screws for the main assembly. One screw was filled with metal but it so happen I have a ton of screws and found one to replace it.....not a big deal but worth mentioning to the manufacturer extra screws would be a good idea. The manufacturer does stress to place the tv stand with tv, against a wall. That is probably common sense but they do stress it. On a final note, as you can see from the images, there is also space under it so if you needed to, you could use that space too. Especially great tv stand for those that appreciate all the storage space on the shelf and the easy access to their electronics. Great price and looks very nice.

Nice looking furniture
Item looks really good fits my 60" hdtv easily and below it i have my PS4, xbox, cable box, internet router all with space around each, assembly was a little hard to do, but once i got it together thing looks great in my living room

Sturdy and Sharp looking!
This TV stand when finished looks great and is very sturdy. It has a nice black finish, the frame is a sturdy and heavy pressed wood and the legs are metal. This is not an average cheap particle board pieces of furniture, it is sturdy and heavy. I was happy to see that they don’t have you use cam locks, it is all screws and nuts. Even the backing of the TV stand is a thicker wood and screws as opposed to a flimsy folding cardboard and nails. The directions are very clear and have excellent diagram pictures so you know that you are putting it together correctly. It was a little tricky to align pieces just right, but I wouldn’t call it difficult. It takes about an hour to get it all finished. The stand is just about 2 feet high, a little lower than I am used to as we had a high boy table prior but it is really nice looking with a black TV on top. I have a 3 year old and we had used a TV safety strap prior and I am very pleased that we were able to screw the straps into this stand so it is very safe (use ½ inch screws for TV strap) and go directly into the top boards over the backing. The open cubicle shelf area is very nice to fit all the equipment you have, plus even some knickknacks and photos.
