Gorgeous piece of furniture
I am very pleased with this fireplace. Was shipped in a LARGE box, and was very well packaged and padded. Nothing was damaged in shipping. Assembly took about an hour. There was no assembly needed for the fireplace portion, you could just plug it in and turn it on. The assembly part was adding the shelf on top, and it was very easy with the basic screws and instructions were very well laid out.
I love that there are a couple different heat settings for the fireplace, or you can turn the heat off, but still get the look of the fire. The logs glow in an unsteady fashion, and while it's obvious it isn't a real fire, it still has a nice effect.

delivered damaged
It was delivered damaged. I hope the Walmart will replace it and the second try will be delivered without any damage or defect. I read some reviews saying they had to replace their purchase several times not a couple time. I really hope it will not be the case with my purchase.

Attractive and functional
Bought this for my wife and I to put in our bedroom for our new 48" TV. This unit is definitely worth the price paid. The build quality seems good. At this price, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the surfaces are laminated. The box was pretty heavy but I managed to move it into the house and assemble it without help. It took me about 1 hour. There are two shelves for cable boxes etc. with an opening to run cables through to the back. The unit is a bit smaller than I imagined, but it doesn't feel undersized. The 48" TV fits just fine and leaves about 1/2" of space on each side. It is rated for TVs up to 100 lbs, which is much heavier than ours. The box includes a pen to cover up scratches in the finish and extras of almost all the included hardware. The heater is thermostat controlled so it only runs when necessary. The fan is quiet. The unit does a fine job of keeping our bedroom warm. Controls are located on the front and all are available from the included remote as well.
