This item was shipped within a week of ordering. Very easy to put together, took me about two hours, and did all by myself, even though the instructions do say that a 2nd person is needed at times. Instructions are very clear to read. Finsihed product looks as though I spent more. Goes great with my decor, color is a true to color as described. Great piece of furniture for the price.

Doesn't fit together well
Perfect size for my 40" TV. There are no real wood pieces. While it was not difficult to assemble with one person, the pieces did not fit together solidly. Doors slide easily and remotes work well through the frosted glass. The corner of the top panel was crushed (particle board) but I faxed the request for replacement part and it was processed and arrived in 12 days.
I ordered a different stand for my bedroom for $10 more and had a much higher quality finish with real hardwood top.

Really nice stand for the price
I took away one star because the unit is a bit wobbly, despite using carpenters glue in all the areas that had dowels. It's just not sturdy as I hoped. It was VERY easy to put together. Took me 1/2 an hour tops. The front drawers slide very smoothly and the unit looks modern with a nice wood grain finish on the top. I love the frosted glass and the TV/cable remotes work with the doors closed. Fits my 42" TV perfectly. Works perfectly in my den.

Acceptable for the price
The unit is not black, it is espresso. Mine is a burgundy-based espresso and in certain light, the purple undertones are quite apparent. I was able to assemble it by myself but a second set of hands is recommended. There are times during the assembly that you need to prop up certain components while others are attached. If you're assembling it by yourself, some of what you've already done will collapse as you proceed to attach the next pieces. It can be done, however.....just keep working at it and make good use of your feet, knees, throw pillows, etc as props during the assembly. Purchasers need to know that the actual shelf depth is only 15 inches. Approximately two inches of the depth is lost due to the sliding front doors. Using the dimensions provided on the website, I thought the unit would be wide enough for my stereo components, but have discovered that I'll need to remove a portion of the backing for a bit more width. If the product was easier to return, I would consider returning it due to the color and the shelf depth but trying to get all the parts back into the original box, and hauling it to the shipper is more work than I'm prepared to undertake. I'll keep it, and will make the modifications that I feel are necessary.
